Research analysis

Local selected-window analysis with parameters in view.

Inspect spectra, compare windows, track band power, estimate spectral slope, and export research bundles from anonymised recordings.

Analysis in EEG TraceLab is channel- and electrode-level signal analysis across scalp EEG, SEEG, ECoG, iEEG, and other EDF recordings. It records the selected channels, source, window, montage, filters, preprocessing state, algorithm settings, warnings, and provenance around each result.

Modules

From PSD curves to structural comparison.

Pro unlocks the local analysis modules used across the app's selected-window workflows.

Power Spectral Analysis

FFT and Welch PSD, full spectrum overview, infraslow through gamma band power, absolute and relative power, peak frequency, and band ratios.

Time-Domain Signal Metrics

RMS, peak-to-peak, variance, zero crossings, mean, min/max, flatline indicator, clipping indicator, and compact amplitude charts.

Time-Frequency and Timeline

Sliding-window PSD-derived heatmaps, band summary charts, band-power timeline trends, dominant band, and peak frequency per time bin.

Structure and slope

Structural Band Power Comparison with windows, bands, structure presets, mapping import, matrix views, and Aperiodic / Spectral Slope fitting.

Transparent controls

Each result carries the context needed to interpret it later.

Analysis controls expose the selected channels, selected window, Raw or Processed source, montage/reference state, filter/downsample state, preprocessing state, parameters, warnings, presets, and recompute actions.

Selected channels, start time, duration, and sample rate
Montage/reference and filter/downsample state
Welch segment length, overlap, taper, FFT length, and frequency resolution
Analysis History / Saved Runs
Parameter Presets for repeatable settings
Provenance JSON and export warnings

Boundary

The app keeps research output separate from clinical interpretation.

Power spectral analysis is for research signal inspection only. Results depend on EDF metadata, selected montage, preprocessing, and window settings. Not for diagnosis or clinical decision support.
