Product features

A complete local EDF review workflow on iPhone.

Import, anonymise, inspect, annotate, configure, and export research artifacts from one local workspace.

EEG TraceLab is designed around the practical steps of EDF / EDF+ signal review: get the recording in safely, see the signal clearly, choose exactly what to inspect, and keep enough context for repeatable research work.

Import and library

Open recordings without turning the site into a cloud workflow.

The app imports EDF / EDF+ recordings into a local iOS workflow and builds a metadata library around anonymised identifiers, user-provided display names, and optional safe research notes.

EDF fixed-header and per-signal metadata parsing
EDF+ detection and annotation-channel handling
Automatic EDF header anonymisation on import
Anonymised metadata-only local library persisted in app storage
Required display name and optional research note workflow
Original file names represented by a hash where applicable

Landscape viewer

A waveform workspace built for dense signal inspection.

The core viewer is a landscape iPhone surface with timeline, grid, channel stack, current marker, and controls that stay close to the signal.

Navigation

Review selected windows with vertical channel scrolling, horizontal time drag, pinch time zoom, duration presets, and a bottom timeline.

  • Vertical channel scrolling
  • Horizontal time navigation
  • Pinch time zoom
  • Current time marker
  • Gain and amplitude scale

Display control

Choose channel sets, highlight selected traces, adjust colors, and keep display-only filters separate from the immutable raw recording.

  • Channel search
  • Select All / Clear / First 20
  • Prefix selection
  • Selected-channel highlight
  • Selected-channel-only viewer

Montage and filters

Switch views without pretending the raw file changed.

EEG TraceLab supports common display and reference views while keeping filter/downsample choices visible in the workflow and export context.

Original, referential, average reference, automatic bipolar, and manual bipolar views
Manual bipolar A/B pair editing with ordering and deletion
High-pass, low-pass, band-pass, 50 Hz notch, and 60 Hz notch preview
None / 512 / 256 / 128 / 64 / 32 / 10 Hz downsample preview options
Processed-window CSV records montage/reference, filter/downsample, amplitude scale, and window duration

Annotations and export

Keep notes and artifacts tied to the reviewed window.

EDF+ annotations and local research notes can be searched, shown, hidden, and exported alongside signal and metadata artifacts.

Review context

Search EDF+ annotations, jump to events, add local notes, and show lightweight overlays without mutating original EDF content.

Artifacts

Eligible local exports include waveform PNG, selected segment CSV, selected channels CSV, metadata JSON, annotation CSV, PSD files, and anonymised EDF copy where available.
